However, keep in mind that it is extremely basic, pretty much just something to propel your boat forward or backward, but it performs this job just fine and should get you from point A to point B, with no problem.

What’s Included?
When you purchase the standard Haswing Osapian Trolling Motor, you get to choose from four different models. The Osapian models are all transom mount motors that come in two classes regular and high-end model known as D.
We are not going to cover the D model in this review because of limited outlets to purchase this model. The standard model is available in four different thrust ratings, 12 volt can be purchased in 30lb, 40lb, 55lb, and 24 volt in 80lb.
Transom mount motors are very simple to mount. Most tighten down with clamps to the back of your boat, so little parts are required. The motor has battery cables and a standard two-blade propeller that you install with a lock nut.
The only other piece of equipment might be the most important, the user’s manual. That being said, this model of motor is very basic in setup and control, so it is a quick read.
Overview of Features
Talking about the features of the Haswing Osapian Trolling Motor might not take too long, seeing as they are quite limited, but there are a few worth mentioning. For one, the standard Haswing Osapian Trolling Motor features five forward settings that are easy to adjust, and it comes with three reverse settings, just in case you need to back up. Moreover, the depth of the prop can be easily adjusted to suit the depth of water you are fishing in or your boat height but moving the depth collar.
The Haswing Osapian Trolling Motor also is very lightweight, compact, and portable, coming in at just around 16 pounds for the 12 volt model and 28 pounds for the 24 volt, which is almost unheard of when it comes to this kind of thing. This is something that makes mounting and transporting this motor extremely simple and easy. It even comes with a collapsible steering lever, which helps make things even easier for you.
Now, the Haswing Osapian Trolling Motor has alright battery life but seeing as it’s not exactly a top-notch model, you do need to be a bit careful with it. If you buy the size motor that best suits your thrust need, then you should be fine. It comes with an LED battery life indicator, so at least you know when the batteries need recharging.
Something you might like about the Haswing Osapian Trolling Motor is that it is very quiet and comes in at a volume rating of just over 35 decibels for the 40 pound thrust model. That said, it only produces 40 pounds of thrust, so using it in strong currents is more or less out of the question, but it should work fine in calm waters and moderately strong currents.
If you are looking to use the motor in currents or a location that is frequently windy, then we would recommend going with an 80 pound thrust motor and extra batteries to supply your power needs.
One final note to consider, the Haswing motors appear to all be saltwater rated and include a zinc anode washer that you install on the propeller shaft. You should replace the zinc anode every few years to prevent corrosion.

When it comes to a tutorial on the Haswing Osapian Trolling Motor, you really won’t find a simpler trolling motor out there. All you have to do is mount it according to the instructions, deploy it in the water, turn it on, choose your speed, and you are good to go. This motor is a great addition to a small fishing boat is the 12-foot length group. If you have an 8hp gas motor, it can be hard to troll at a speed slow enough to catch trout or kokanee, but a 30lb motor will do the job and help you catch more fish.
